Our hotel is perfectly located for any golfer, either travelling alone or in a large party with plenty of courses in and around the local area. You simply have to walk out our front door and you are at the 1st Tee of the World Famous Old Course.

We want to make your stay a little easier if you contact our Reception and we will do whatever we can, arrange transport, confirm and arrange tee times at the local courses if and when available. We can also enter players into the Old Course Ballot upon request.

St Andrews Courses

Old Course -  6721 yards par 72 - The Home of Golf where golf was first played 600 years ago. Handicap certificate required.

New Course- 6625 yards par 71 - Laid out by Old Tom Morris and opened in 1895. A classic links championship course which shares many features of the Old Course. No handicap limit.

Jubilee Course- 6742 yards par 72 - Another championship links course over 100 years old and venue for Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championships. No handicap limit.

Eden Course - 6250 yards par 70 - Opened in 1914 the Eden is a Harry S Colt classic partly modified by Donald Steel. No handicap limit.

Strathtyrum Course- 5620 yards par 69 - Shorter and less testing, the Strathtyrum is the best course for higher handicappers. No handicap limit.

Balgove Course- 1520 yards par 30 - Ideal for families and beginners, this is a nine hole course with tees, bunkers and a double green.

The Castle Course- 6759 yards par 71 - The seventh course at the Home of Golf. Stunning views from the cliff top site. No handicap limit.

All of the above courses are between a five minute and ten minute drive the closest being the Old Course which is a one minute walk from our front door.

Carnoustie (Championship Course) - 6692 yards par 72

Widely recognised as the toughest test in Open Championship golf the Championship Course is a par 72 but with a Standard Scratch Score for amateurs of 75! Taking into account the "Buffer Zone" means that a player can retain a category 1 rating without breaking 80. Carnoustie also has another 2 courses - the Burnside and the Buddon.

Colinsburgh (Charleton) - 6446 yards par 72

Acclaimed to be one of the most beautiful Golf Courses in Scotland. Set in the heart of the Charleton Estate, owned by Baron St Clair Bonde, Charleton has gone from strength to strength since it's opening in 1994 by former United States of America President, George Bush Snr.

Crail (Balcomie Links) - 5861 yards par 69

This is the 7th oldest golf club in the world. Their members and visitors have been enjoying some of the finest links golf in Scotland - many say the world - since 1786.

Elie - 6273 yards par 70

Golf has been played here possibly as early as the 15th century however it wasn't until 1770 that a sort of formal layout was put in place. Barring a few minor alterations the current course was laid out in 1896.

Kingsbarns - 6174 yards par 72

Located 7 miles south east of the 'Home of Golf', the game has been played on the site since 1793. Kyle Phillips designed this Top 100 Ranked golf course and by setting it in an amphitheatre along the coast, nearly every hole boasts spectacular views of the North Sea.

Ladybank - 6580 yards par 71

This original 6-hole course was designed by Old Tom Morris in 1879, 3 further holes were added in 1910 but it wasn't until 1958 that another 9 holes were laid down and incorporated within the existing course in 1961 to form an 18 hole course that is used today. An Open Championship qualifying course since 1978.

Leven -  6506 yards par 72

Leven Links is an Open Championship qualifying course and whilst golf has been played here since 1820, the game dates back to 1846 on parts of these links with the current configuration coming into being in 1909.

Lundin Links - 6371 yards par 71

This course is well known throughout the golfing world as a course of rare quality. Founded in 1868, on a Tom Morris course it was extensively redesigned by five times Open Champion James Braid in 1909. Fine links fairways and excellent greens have ensured that it has been regularly selected as a final qualifying course for the Open Championship.

Scotscraig - 6310 yards par 71

This is the world's 13th oldest golf club and an Open Final Qualifying Course which is steeped in history and proud traditions. Although the course doesn't sit exactly adjacent to the coastline, there are a few sea breezes to consider when playing this links, heathland mixture.

St Michaels - 5806 yards par 70

Golf has been enjoyed at 'St Mikes' golf course just outside Leuchars since 1903. A request from RAF Leuchars in 1963 that they might regard St Michaels as their home course was agreed.
